What Is the ACCUPLACER Placement Test?

The ACCUPLACER test is a placement exam. It has no time limit, and it consists of the following sections: Reading, Writing, and three Math sections with increasing complexity level. All the questions in these sections are multiple-choice. The questions are individually adaptive; they increase or decrease in difficulty based on responses to previous questions. In addition, there is an Essay section (also known as WritePlacer), in which you need to write a 300-600 words essay in response to a prompt presented to you. Each topic assesses the different skills that you need in order to take college-level math and English courses.
